As the weather gets warmer, there's no better time to reconnect with nature and your community. Whether you're passionate about native plants, shoreline cleanups, birdwatching, or learning something new, there’s something for everyone this spring. Mark your calendars and come join us!

Volunteers Needed: Support Our Educational Programs

We have relaunched our educational programs and are seeking enthusiastic volunteers to help with our educational outreach! If you're passionate about environmental education and want to make a difference in your community, please email us at education@birdsonthebay.ca to get involved!

  • Field Trip Support: We need volunteers to lead or assist with by-donation field trips for local elementary and high school students. Right now, we’re running the Marine Beach Hero Program, which takes place on local beaches—usually Crescent Beach in the City of Surrey or White Rock Beach in the City of White Rock. An orientation session will be held in late April. Please note that field trips happen on weekdays between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm to fit school schedules.

  • Resource Kit Delivery: We’re also looking for volunteers to deliver resource kits to participating schools. Each volunteer will be given a delivery form to be signed by the receiving teacher.
