Dart's Hill Native Plant Garden Project:

Recently Friends of Semiahmoo Bay Society (FoSBS) joined with the Dart’s Hill Society to collaborate on developing a Native Plant Demonstration Garden in the Dart’s Hill Garden, 16th Ave. and 170th St., a City of Surrey Park. On Saturday, March 22, 2014 FoSBS, with A Rocha, Dart’s Hill Society and South Surrey Garden Club volunteers, and City of Surrey Parks staff, we installed 100 trees, shrubs and ferns and 200 herbaceous plants & wildflowers of plants and placed 4 cubic yards of top soil in the new garden area in under three hours. Thirty volunteers made such speedy progress in planting the native plants that the Dart’s Hill Society members offered a short garden tour to introduce everyone to the garden.
